The cook

I developed my love for sweet potatoes, cornbread, watermelon, greens, and...more sweet potatoes down in Atlanta GA, the place I will always call home.

Now I live in New York City, and own a food and wellness company called The Nourishing Vegan.
As The Nourishing Vegan I wear a couple of hats; I am a personal chef and a health coach. I show my clients how to eat a delicious and balanced vegan diet so they can have more energy, lose weight and feel amazing; without confusion about what to eat!

The recipes you'll find on Sweet Potato Soul are healthy, almost all vegan and delicious.

WARNING: I wasn't a vegan when I started this blog, so you might come across some old recipes for baked goods that contain milk or eggs.
Also, while I do call myself a vegan, some recipes contain honey (which is technically not vegan). I hardly ever eat honey, nor do I purchase it any more. I do not recommend eating honey UNLESS it is raw and local. Raw local honey, while still from bees, is a nutritious and healing food. Honey from your local bee keeper is better for the bees, and most likely more "consciously" attained.
